All right. Doing better for a good eight hours of sleep. Not so much better for the boy talking about details that are still coming out about my friend's death and how his partner found him, and I may have spent some time last night staring at the ceiling afraid to go to sleep in case I died in my sleep and the boy found me the next morning. And worrying about my friends and wishing I could be there, because ... well, because. But doing better than yesterday.

Which is to say I'm not immediately smashing things out of frustration and hair-trigger temper and emotional lability from stress and lack of sleep. Keeping on keeping on.

Managed to get a good breakfast, exercise, and a good amount of sleep. Next up will be checking in tomorrow, because I seem to not be doing that weekly anymore but definitely need to do that this week with everything that's been going on. I have leather goods to work on and I have Nerd Girls and Deli Counter to work on, thank god. Adequate things to keep me busy but not too busy today.

Though speaking of the busy I am, what the hell do they teach people in school these days? Cite your damn sources! This brought to you by discovering that someone had linked to our blog as "Meta" on an RP journal without indicating in any way shape or form that it wasn't meta they had written. I'm assuming they just didn't think it was necessary, and if I hadn't spent the past year plus learning to accommodate for Blogger's First Rule, but people don't think of things like that when they're following links. And it's not like I haven't linked to my own outside meta on my own RP journals before. Years ago. Back in the stone age. God I feel old. Though there's also the fact that the RP character was also my own original creation and clearly labeled as such all over the place. Still. We put at a minimum 8 (these days usually more like 10-12) hours of work into each post, not including the profiles (more like 4 maybe?) and essays (who the hell knows). We would like people to know that it is ours. I don't think that's too much to ask.

Speaking of, though, I should take a chunk of comments to tackle today. We've been getting relatively lax on prompt responses to that because augh busy. Without the Person of Interest catch-up, though. Whee free time again! And without Haven, too! Free! Time! At least until it fills up with other shit.

So, okay, got halfway down page 23 of Twilight Watch and I think ran into an idiom gtranslate borked. Which means I need to remember to go home and look up what happens after Gesar cuts himself off and waves it all away. But for today's segment all I have to say is Oh ANTON.

Trying to come up with stocking stuffers for the boy is a job of work. Apart from possibly chocolate dice or his favorite candies and a set of runes or two in matching leather bag, I got nothing. I know he plays video games, does RPG games like I do, collects playing cards sometimes. Um. Hell. I really got nothing. Any ideas, anyone? Though I suppose runes and candy aren't the worst things to put in his stocking. Maybe I can find a plushy germ set somewhere. Or something cute and silly at Malaprops.

Oh! Cat news! There was only one cat at the breakfast table this morning, but while I was doing the food and water dishes shuffle the last one to go out was the fresh water dish. I went out and crouched with my back up against the door and instead of diving back into its hidey hole like they normally do, it went calmly over to the edge of the front stoop and sat down and waited for me to be finished. I was less than two feet away, maybe a foot and a bit away from it. I tried reaching out and enticing it closer, but it wasn't having with that. Still! And the boy says that the cats are nesting in the place we made for it in the garage, too, so that'll be nice.

And now for something completely different: GSK To Stop Paying Doctors to Promote Drugs. Well shit on me.

I suppose I'd better get back to work. I did try the acetone transfer of laser-printed designs to stamp pads, and that kind of worked, I just need to figure out why it's not entirely transferring. More pressure? More acetone? Irregularities in the printer? Argh. But still, between that and getting everything cut out, if I'm lucky I'll be able to practice pounding snaps into things this weekend. Plus cutting out the boards for my pressing table, hopefully I can get that going along pretty reasonably quickly. Once the pressing table is done I'll probably start actually making shit. In the meantime, if I get even a decent amount of writing done today, tonight is for picking up the living room and the craft room because both are covered in crap from not cleaning this weekend and yet emptying out the garage. Ugh.

ETA: Oh yay! Person who linked us got back to us, it was an oversight, and they're correcting. Happy endings for everyone! ... Still haven't done German. Going to do that now.
