I always forget how sleepy winter makes me until I'm in the middle of it. Hard time waking up. Hard time thinking my way through languages. Hard time making myself do much of anything. On the other hand, I did get the garage cleaned out last night, including finding my serger. Of course this means that now the living room is once again filled with piles of boxes that need to be unpacked and distributed throughout the house. Three from the garage and maybe four more of Christmas presents and various other things that have arrived and never got really broken down and put away.

Argh. This weekend is going to be nuts. Friday will either be going to Home Depot or cleaning the living room and patio so we have room for a tree, one of the two. Until Grimm, of course. Then Saturday will be largely blogging Grimm and Haven, augh. And then Sunday will be acquiring tree, the garage is cleaned except for packing crap so I don't have to do that, but. Acquiring tree, possibly acquiring lumber for my pressing table if the Home Depot trip hasn't been done by then, probably blogging Grimm when I can, and possibly going to see Desolation of Smaug at the end as a reward for all my hard work.

Argh. And, you know, it's just this weekend? Because once we get the tree and it's up, the garage is cleaned out, the boxes within will be unpacked, my craft room is slowly taking shape, that will all be stuff I don't have to do in future weekends. And from here on out, it's only one TV show blogging per weekend, and that's not bad at all. Given that we dropped Person of Interest the only thing we're backlogged on in the future is season two of Haven, and maybe the first season of Grimm if we want to go back and do that. So that's a much less of a workload to do.

Right now, though, it just feels exhausting and like I have too much to do and I just want to curl up and cry about it. Or maybe say fuck it all and sleep. Also it's winter and the dark and the cold makes me sleepy and I have alligator skin.

All right. Today I'm taking in two pieces of leather to cut into pouch parts, and I've got Deli story to work on and then Nerd Girls and White Lightning. Though after this weekend it'll just be Nerd Girls and White Lightning and that'll be kind of a relief, too. And that's about all I want to try to get done while at work today. One thing at a time, right? I can get all of this done this weekend, right? Of course right.

THERE. Finally got back into the habit of doing my Russian, made it all the way through page 22, and onto the top of page 23 even if Google translate is choking more irritatingly than usual. Have also come to the conclusion that Spotify needs a function where you can search by language. At the very least I could come up with more French and German music that way. ... Okay, bad examples, I have A for French (or at least French-Canadian) music recs and KFMDM for German, but you know what I mean. Sort of. I think mostly I mean I need Russian music recs while I try to get back into the habit of reading in Russian and constantly looking shit up in a dictionary. Oi. (I also need to get back into the habit of Memrise, it's been MONTHS. Maybe just for Irish and Russian, to start, since they're the ones where my vocab is most lacking.)

Aaand. Ugh. Home Depot will not hold orders more than 24 hours so if I want to place the order for the lumber and things to pick up in the store, I have to do it the same day. Which isn't too much of a hassle, I'm just irked because I can't confer with the boy and make absolutely sure we're not going tonight. But I doubt they're going to run out of lumber between now and Sunday, so I just need to sit on my own impatience and wait. I hate waiting.

I also hate the fact that it's looking like it's too busy out front at least at the store to be able to sit down and write without interruption. I mean, on the one hand I can cut more leather for more pouches (I can't practice snaps yet until I get a rubber/leather tipped mallet at home, because I don't want to make random banging noises at work.) and on the other hand, I need to get writing done more than I need to get pouches moved along. This irks me. It's irksome. Sigh, maybe I'll get reading done instead or something.

So. I guess the plan for tonight is indeed to go home, clean up some more, make some room for the Christmas tree that may or may not happen because the boy left it until NOW to get the tree, and so I have no idea what we'll be able to scrape together in terms of a stand for a tree or an artificial tree. Ugh. I may also put out the Christmas lights, or at least put some lights in some windows. Hopefully at SOME point there will be writing, and then the rest of the weekend proceeds as planned. Ulp.

This weekend, I swear. If I can just get through this. (Also German is not yet read. Feel free to smack me if this is not updated by the end of business EST today.)
