Definitely need to use the other book after I'm done with this one. Oi. Not enough exercises and too many grammar points. Not enough Irish tutor and too many grammar points and not enough ability to tell whether I'm doing things right.

We got lumber yesterday for raised beds! We put together the raised beds. Then we realized we have no clue what we're doing. >.> Anyway, now I need to either smack the boy into action or do it myself, where 'do it' means finish assembling the raised beds (our screws were too short oops) and fill it with mulch. But I already repotted the peppers and cukes since we're not quite out of the danger zone for frost. Probably. But not quite. So. Food from the ground.

Other than that I guess there's not much new? I did do a bunch of cooking yesterday but because of garden hijinks I didn't end up getting around to the red velvet cake. Maybe tonight, depending on what I'm doing when I get home and how much Person of Interest I can churn through initially. At least we're sort of back on track with that. Even if I'm not at all on track with Nano oops.

So. Today's statement of intent! Nano Nano Nano. Deleted scenes in Twisted Thread and Nano. If I get inspired, something for Shimmerzine, but other than that, Nano Nano Nano. I want to get the goddamn draft of that story done by the end of April, and it's getting increasingly difficult to fit that in. Though I suppose the plus side there is that Nano, apart from winning Camp Nano, doesn't actually have a deadline. Argh, so much to write, so little time in the day. Which means, yes, time to get my sorry butt moving. Ikimashyou, as Mister E would say. Well, no, he says Ikimasu, but it's the same semantic thing.

Well, that may or may not have gone pretty well. I guess in the absence of new verbs I'll be refreshing myself on other constructions? This weekend I should schedule a block of time to translate some more of that fairy tale and see if I do any better/any quicker without sacrificing accuracy. At least the odds are, if I fucked up on that exercise, it's either a typo or I fucked up in some intrinsic way that will require redoing the whole thing so I embed the right way to do it into my thinkmeats. On the other hand, that's a similar construction to Spanish, so.

Plus I got some bloggery out and a check-in post this morning! Which involved way more pulling out issues and laying them out for examination than I expected, and, ow. I mean, it's a good thing. But nonetheless ow. At least now I know that iceberg is there.

Stuff continues to happen. I might try and get one more blog entry out of me today but this afternoon is primarily for White Lightning and this evening is primarily for Person of Interest blogging and cooking and prepping some lunches so I don't forget them when rushing out the door this week, discussing the garden, picking up stuff. Random things. I think this afternoon's garden task will be, barring that the boy took a wild hair to get longer screws (shut up all of you), transplanting the basil shoots to fewer per pot, and then transplanting either the sage or the parsley into the last bigger pot we have. Possibly the parsley. Though I'm kind of curious just how tall the sage will go. And, hmm. Dinner tonight is easy stuff, so I should have a fair bit of writing time and I'll have to think about what to do for that. Extra scenes in Twisted Thread probably, but maybe also a short for submission to the Shimmerzine place. Thoughts! Decisions! Have to see what else is going on.

I do so love having my brain and emotions back remotely under control again. Love it good.

Hey look! Routines I can maintain them. Or at least start them up again. I have also repotted the sage into something with more room for its roots to go down and its plantness to go up. Hopefully up and not sideways. Sideways sage looks funny. Tomorrow I think I will start uprooting the shit out of everything in the front yard directly in front of the house, except the daffodils. I hope. I like the daffodils, but I'd like them a lot better if they weren't surrounded by shit I don't want to keep.

And now, writing. And possibly eating leftover stew if the boy doesn't get his sleepy ass down here so I know to grill chicken. Or have a reason to grill chicken. Because right now I have more lazy than reasons to grill half-frozen chicken.
