kittydesade: (to-do list)
Okay, I didn't quite get everything organized to get my language books out, but close! I got my desktop out and set up in the future office, need to get at least one if not a couple of bookshelves set up in there, and then dig through the many boxes in the garage to get those in. That'll probably happen tonight. Didn't get the broccoli transplanted, either, that should happen tomorrow night, but we did get a bunch more stuff from Home Depot, sort of got the shower fixed only not quite. We thought we got the knob put back on, but it's not staying on, needs either a longer or tighter screw. We did get the showerhead changed, though, to one that's on a hose so we don't all have to crouch down to get a decent shower. Even I did, a bit, and the boy's a foot taller than me, so you can imagine how well that went over. Also got some mats, for the doorway and the foyer and the bath, so we won't be either tracking mud or slipping all over the place. And groceries! We went grocery shopping at stupid o'clock in the AM on Sunday. Of all times. College groceries! That was a bigger shopping than I think we've done in a very long time, but necessary.

Here, for those of you who have seen it and are interested, the director/writer of Looper made his script freely available on the internet, only he asks "A brief introduction is attached to the script. Enjoy, share and disperse freely. Just don’t make any money off of it without letting us know (mostly because we’d be fascinated to know how you managed to make any money off it.)" This is a cool guy. Also my crush on Joe Gordon-Levitt has been reactivated, which is weird because it's a recent crush. Look, the first time I saw him was in 10 Things I Hate About You where was the sort of cute, very nebbishy kid, okay? And then I didn't see him in anything for maybe 12 years or so, and somehow he turned into a pretty fine looking adult! I'm still wondering how the fuck that happened.

Man, now that we have a giantass house it's very easy for the cats to not so much get lost as hide away in closets and things. This morning I saw all four of them when I fed them breakfast and now I can only find Murdock. I'm betting the other three are squirrelled away though. They were here a second ago I swear!

I'm in this weird halfway between state where I'm not quite feeling like I'm in a strange space anymore, but it's not quite my house either. Unpacking would probably help that, but when the hell will I ever find the time. Over time, really, over the next several weeks. Tonight is books and bookshelves, and possibly fucking around with the dishwasher some more. Tomorrow will be something else, plus repotting broccoli. Tonight is also starting watching Person of Interest because god knows when we'll get the last two episodes of Haven. Pre-empting it was the right thing to do, though. I just hope they follow it up with more smart action and not airing the finale without the preceding episode, because then everyone will be lost and cranky. Especially us.

I need to get Yuletide done today, or at least, most of it done. Which should be do-able. Especially since there's not much incoming at work today, and possibly not much outgoing if people have given up on mail-ordering stuff to arrive in time for Christmas. I need to order the last couple of presents, wrap others, and that's it for Christmas prep for me. Except maybe baking all the things this weekend. Oogh. Too much shit to do, not enough time to do it in. Maybe I should save the rest of the unpacking for January.
