And still in the middle of German translation, so.

Still not much to talk about, either. I could go on and on and on about analysis of Grimm, actually, but I'm not sure how interested anyone is about that. But oh it's such a juicy show. The use of language (not just English, mind you) and the nuances of the acting and all of it. I want the new episode already. Is it Friday yet?

It's pouring down rain here, which is making me very glad I got my shipment of very water-vulnerable boxes the other day. Don't have to worry about that, now. Do have to get stuff packed for Maryland, but that's going about as slow as usual. I grabbed some sample yarn that we got from one of our suppliers, we're not going to carry any of it yet because, frankly, we can't afford to, but there's a really neat skein of sock yarn that's going to be arm warmer yarn for me. At the very least. It's all kinds of rainbow colors. And I discovered something about my Hiya Hiya's (or, really, all interchangeable needles) that's kind of awesome: If I want to use the tips for something else, all I have to do is keep the cords roughly still and I can just unscrew the tips, knit something else, and go back to whatever I was working on. Only I think I'll pull all that out anyway, because I can't think of anyone who wants a lavender doily.

Actually, instead, for the doily, I might even dare some double points and get some crochet yarn and some even thinner needles. I dislike double points, though. With the fire of a thousand suns. At least afghan squares are coming along. And there, see? I found something to talk about even with house stuff not coming along as it should. Although the update on that as of yesterday is that the selling bank is getting new estimates from plumbers on repiping the entire house, which I think is actually somewhat excessive but hey! That means things we don't have to do. I am all for it. Especially if it doesn't take that long, then we get the appraisal, then we get this the fuck done. My god. Even my Realty Lady said, almost literally, "House buying doesn't work that way!" So I told her it was probably a good thing we were buying (or hunting down and killing with our bare hands and teeth) a house we wouldn't have to upgrade from. Which is true. We might need to re-roof in five or ten years, um. The heat needs redone but after that, that's all of two major things we'll have to do, and that's in the next five to ten years.

And, you know, there's still painting, stripping wallpaper, probably sanding some things down, fixing the front steps, the chimney. Cleaning up the wood stove. Hiring in a chimney sweep. Minor stuff.

There, see? I found something to talk about. Also kind of debating doing the 100 blogging things challenge, probably (as one might expect) about house stuff. Possibly more about house stuff, homemaking stuff, and hope chest stuff. I shall ponder this while I dash out to my carpool in the pouring fucking rain. It's trying its damndest to be Biblical out there. At least this is proper spring weather.
