I had the bizarre realization today that I don't think I've ever had an exercise class of any kind without some sort of concluding salutation to/thanking of the teacher. We had it in all the martial arts classes I went to, we have it in ballet. It's just something that's always been there for me. And even now, performing reverence puts a little point on the morning's exercise in my mind, gives a sense of peace and conclusion if only in tiny amounts that I notice when I really pay attention.

(In other exercise related news, after Dragon Con maybe I'll try these exercises again without all this weight strapped to my ankles or in my hands and see how much easier it is. Heh.)

Oof. Lagging a bit already in my writing schedule, which only means that I need to get my ass moving on the two Big Bangs I have yet to draft. My treaty-by-three-way-marriage story still needs a title, which is probably going to end up being Conjunction unless something sounds better. So far there's been a lot of applicable thoughts but nothing that has punch or title-quality, I don't even know how to describe it you guys. You know how some movies and shows have just lame titles and some have titles that just roll off the tongue or stick in the mind? That. Ugh. I might just steal a title at this rate. Not that it's stealing because you can't copyright titles, but there you go.

Yesterday I did the bulk of ALL THE FIBER KITS EVER, which amounts to... did I mention? Yes I did. Enough fiber (1-2 ounces) to spin some of all the fibers we sell. And now I just have to do the tussah silk, the flax, and something else I've now forgotten but it's on my list. So hopefully that goes better, there's only one incoming, and with luck today will be a quiet Friday instead of a crazy Friday. Here's hoping, anyway. I'd dearly love to get some writing in before I deal with the prospect of dinner and a movie.

... and before I run off, Oh holy shit you guys, Fox News is brought to us by the guy who brought us Watergate! Which is a vast oversimplification but damn that made me laugh.

So, I did not actually jam with the Wandering Minstrel or the Elf Lord today. Because I did my whistle-playing earlier, and memorized a little less than half a tune! Mostly. I did, however, get over my whole augh I can't do this I can't read the music and play the music at the same time flip-out. No, Jag, you can. I ran through just the fingering for a bit, then with wind, and I'll probably do somewhat better once I'm out of the store where there are people. The first tune, if anyone's ever heard it, is Boys of Tandragee. Next up I might do a bit from Secret of Roan Inish if I can figure out what the hell it actually was. Because the Elf Lord and Co. were playing it and now I want to play it too.

... Of course, then Elf Lord came back and taught me the first part. Win. Win and awesome. Apparently it's called The Butterfly, though I think on the Secret of Roan Inish it's called Fiona's Song. I'll check when I get home.

A friend of mine today told me that some scholars say Odin and Loki were one and the same until the early Norse period what CITE YOUR SOURCES. I want to see them. No, seriously, does anyone have any information on this because now my brain is not only mashing Tom Hiddleston and Anthony Hopkins together in a really warped way, it is also trying to reconcile two very different (and in some ways not so different) archetypes based on years of mythology learning and pop culture manifestations. Ow. I mean, I can see where they get it but still CITE YOUR SOURCES. I want to see these sources.

I'm going to be playing this song forever. Swear to god. This amuses the shit outta me.

Debating what's going to happen tonight, although if the boy did everything he wanted to do this morning I think tonight is going to be grocery shopping and then coming home and doing nothing. So I get writing time anyway, hooray! So behind. And then a three day weekend! And all the music ever. Oh my god. All the music ever ever ever. So energized by knowing this now.... I need a music tag, don't I. Yes I do. Thoughts?
