Oof.I've discovered something I don't entirely like about this whole bento website books craze thing. A lot of it, maybe half of it, seems to be geared towards parents making kids' lunches. If I ever do have kids (and, heh, at this rate it seems like a big if, but you never know), sure, I'll probably pack them a bento box. But this is me, for an adult. I don't need to be taught how to integrate nutrition into my kid's life or about the food pyramid or things like that. I want some ideas for what fits well in a bento, and maybe some recipes, etc. That's it. I don't need "family discussion charts" or "recommended reading: Dr. Seuss." That said, the fact that The Lorax was in that book as recommended reading did crack me up.
That said, tomorrow's bento will be mango lamb curry, if the boy hasn't eaten it all, jasmine/basmati rice (whichever one we have at home, I forget which), and something else. Snacky things. Maybe orange slices, and I got nothing. I need to work on this whole getting into the bento! I also kind of want rice molds. Or funky fruit cutters. Something. I am a very silly person sometimes. Eh, I'm sure when I get home and poke around in the fridge I'll find something, we just went shopping.
I also got my Bag of Holding and my Pratchett books, and A Madness of Angels! Which is very exciting. Yay reading material! Boo not having organized my shelf space so I don't really have anywhere to put it. No, well, I do. I can double stack. But still. Boo also for not having my chip case yet, although by the tracking info it should probably be here tomorrow. It's in Durham. Don't know why, that's not the usual hub which, I think, is Winston-Salem, but, eh. As long as it's en route! And now I need to transfer most of the stuff from my purse to my Bag of Holding because holy SHIT, you guys, this really is a Bag of Holding. It's fucking huge. But on the other hand that also means I only have one bag to worry about when I go to work in the morning, and that's nice.
Oof. I feel kind of hot and kind of flushed and I don't know if that's from the marathon three hours in the dentist's chair (probably) or something happening last night to prevent me sleeping (maybe) as soundly as I might, or the fact that it's a Monday with a Monday workload (maybe a little). I can't wait to go home and be able to just lie down. Meh.
