Italics and exclamation point are actually in the book. Heh. I think I even understood most of that straight off.

Ugh. In a strange mood today. Not quite worried or upset, not quite not, either. On the other hand, there was absolutely awesome Jeffrey Donovan, Matt Bomer, and Mark Feuerstein this morning. I mean, awesome. It was hilarious. They were playing... well, it was hilarious. Jeffrey Donovan put a lobster on his forehead. And pillowfights! Oh my god it was wonderful. Amazingly wonderful.

Right. So, getting ready. Something. Made that lime curry thing last night as a stir fry, which it didn't work so well. Definitely works better as a rub than a stir fry, so, duly noted. Slowly getting into the habit of bringing more fruits and veggies to work to snack on, now that they're more in season and, well, tasty. Did not manage to get into any kind of writing groove at all last night due to various and sundry heavy discussions, but none of them were actually bad, and I did pound out some words to keep in practice. I'll meet my minimum and I should at least get all the drafts in on time. I actually need to check on the original big bang, since I don't have an author to email the draft to, and see if I need to have a full text draft or just an idea of where the story is going (which I do) and if so, then I can stop freaking out over that. Which would be nice. And I was supposed to start poking at Barton Hall yesterday. Fuck. Oh well.

And my usual satchel has sprung a giant hole out the bottom, so it's time to retire that Bag of Holding. They always said you weren't supposed to mix Bags of Holding with Portable Holes; I guess they were right. Fortunately, I have achieved enough gold to purchase another Bag of Holding, so that's on its way. This one's a Bag of Holding +1! It'll have enough room to put a small lunch sack in, so I'm actually thinking of buying a bento box and using that for my lunch. Anyone have any suggestions on where to get a preferably not too flowery, flattish bento? Still poking Google.

I was going to make a post here about how I don't really know what to do when someone comments on a fic I wrote and says they've been hurt or offended or both by it, because I did X, Y, and Z, and I still don't. And eventually I'll come up with something that isn't crying or wanting to hide in the corner of shame and cover it all over like scat, or ... something. There were a mix of reactions. I'm trying to fix what I did wrong, and hopefully I will, but then I got distracted by this unbelievable mind-fuckery and audacity and misogyny.

A friend of mine posted this. I just. I. What. WHAT. NO. STAY THE HELL OFF PEOPLE'S BODIES. NOT YOURS. NOT YOUR PLAYGROUND, NOT YOUR PETRI DISH, NOT YOURS. STAY. THE FUCK. AWAY.

Her chosen excerpt from the article: At annual visits after the surgery, while a parent watches, Poppas touches the daughter’s surgically shortened clitoris with a cotton-tip applicator and/or with a “vibratory device,” and the girl is asked to report to Poppas how strongly she feels him touching her clitoris. Using the vibrator, he also touches her on her inner thigh, her labia minora, and the introitus of her vagina, asking her to report, on a scale of 0 (no sensation) to 5 (maximum), how strongly she feels the touch.... Poppas has indicated in this article and elsewhere that ideally he seeks to conduct annual exams with these girls....

This is the article by the doctor describing these procedures and this is a response from Psychology Today.

Christ. What the hell is it with today and... well, everything. California, you're pre-emptively on notice. California has not, as yet, done anything with or to Prop 8. And my comment notifications are still showing up late if at all. Ugh. On the plus side, did discover exactly how much of my Original Big Bang I have to have done by the end of this month. So there's that.

I'm... okay, no. I haven't gotten a response (or if I have I haven't seen it appear yet) so I'm not going to dwell just yet. And notifs are incredibly delayed anyway, so.

Other things. Daily routine! I finally caved and got a bento box, because I finally caved and got the new Bag of Holding. Which, it isn't so much, I finally caved, as the fact that the satchel I was using for my laptop sprouted a hole in the bottom I could almost put my fist to. Now, I suppose I could use one of the copious numbers of backpacks floating around the apartment, but I actually like the damn bag. I like messenger bags. They're not entirely good for my back, I suspect, but they're more useful than swinging my backpack around all the time. And the new Bag of Holding has enough space for me to put my laptop and my Japanese textbook in one pocket and my bento in another, with space left over. I may just transfer most of the contents of my purse into it and just use that one bag for daily use, and maybe even keep my purse folded up in case I need to go somewhere without the rest of the bag.

The bento box is something I've only been considering for, heh, a year and a half. Pluses! It would encourage serious portion control, it would encourage me to have more variety in my lunch diet other than just sandwiches or takeout sushi/sandwiches, and it would probably get me to eat more fruits/vegetables. Minuses! I have to work into my schedule actually filling it and then cleaning the containers. Cleaning the containers is less of a hassle, I just have to make myself stay in the kitchen and do it when at work. Filling it will be a challenge. Rice is easy, when we have stir fry for dinner I can just scoop out and fill a container since I picked up a couple extra containers. I might also eventually splurge for some rice molds. Everything else... I don't know. We'll have to see. Another thing I plan on doing is, since I got the extra containers, filling them maybe a couple days in advance and just picking what I want that day. It's a work in progress. We'll see how practical it is.

I am planning on, when I go to bed, logging off maybe a half an hour early so I can put things in boxes, prepare my bento, cut fruit or veggies and rinse the tools I use and put it all in the fridge so I can just grab it and go, since in the mornings I'm always rushing by the end. Actually, I guess I don't even have to log off, I just have to let you, the internet, nag me. :) I may even do the trendy thing and take pictures of my bento, but we'll see. One thing I hope to do with this is get rid of some of the randomass crap that's in my cupboards, like kidney beans or tinned carrots.

I've figured out that I need to write 85% of the novel in order to qualify for actually turning it in for the original big bang thing. Which is still better than 'all the rest of it' because that's only 44%. But I also need a title, which I suck at, and I also need an estimate word count, which I also suck at. I guess it's time to stop sucking for the day, or something.
