Prepositional case: на
You already know that the prepositional case is used after the preposition в to indicate location and after the preposition на to mean on. The preposition на is also used instead of в in the following situations:

To indicate ‘on:’ на столе
With activities на лекции , на балете, на работе
With certain words, which must be memorized (ugh) на факультете , на кафедре , на курсе

Составьте предложения. Form ten sentences in Russian by combining words from the columns below. Make the verbs agree with their grammatical subjects, and put the words following prepositions in the prepositional case. Pay special attention to which words go with what preposition.

I've seen a fair bit of hate and rage on the California Supreme Court all over my f-list and other people's. And while yes, I am disappointed and hurt and pissed off at it all, I would also like to point out two things:

a) The Supreme Court is made up of people, too. With fears and prejudices and the burden of making decisions that will affect millions of people based on a few months' worth of arguments and the deliberations of their own conscience and that of a small number of other people. Very small. They chose, from what I can tell (no, I haven't read the actual ruling, not while at work I won't anyway) to uphold the right of the voters of California to amend the constitution. I disagree that voters should have the right to amend out what we consider basic human rights, but as I understand it, that is what the ruling upheld. The right of the voters of California to amend the constitution. And that ... I don't know. I don't like the consequence, but I can understand the dilemma, and I would not want to be a Supreme Court justice in ANY state and have that decision resting on my shoulders.

b) The marriages that people were promised have, in fact, been upheld. 18,000 marriages were upheld today that have been in limbo. That's 36,000 people today who are most likely very, very relieved. I'll take the silver linings I can get.
