Nov. 27th, 2008 10:04 amThings for which I am thankful:
Above all, friends and family, without whom I would not have gotten through a lot of the shit I did, nor learned many of the lessons I did, nor been as awesome as I am.
My general good health, which enabled me to get through about five years with no health insurance paying only about a hundred bucks for a doctor's visit and some antibiotics for strep throat.
Asheville, for being so awesome, low-cost to live, having an excellent public transport system for a small town, plus, it is so very my kind of weird.
LiveJournal which, despite its flaws, has turned into one of the coolest places to write and RP in. Also without which I would not have stayed in contact with as many friends as I have, nor made as many new and glorious friends as I have.
Barak and Michelle Obama, and the fact that they have energized so much of the population of my country to sit up and take interest in its workings.
My country in general. For all its faults, I do love it a great deal. Even as I bitch. I bitch because I care.
I'm thankful that the death toll isn't higher. Which it damn well could have been.
My brain. Oh what a lovely brain it is. It gives me Astrid, Maggie, and Pam, the trio of asskickery and awesome. Also, Jean Claude Van Damme the Sorcerer. Go on, all of you who know what that is, cringe.
Friends. Family.
The fact that I have a job in a place I love where I can, if I have done all my work, screw off for a bit by watching the World of Warcraft commercials on YouTube. Mon nom est Jean Claude Van Damme, et je suis un mage. I love my job, I'm happy, and it pays me enough to subsist on.
My kitties. Even if they do sit on me at 6 in the morning on a non work day. Brats.
My sight. My hands. My voice. My creativity. My ability to cook. Hot damn.
The fact that my laptop still works.
The Mentalist and its cute little blonde proto-Sorcerer. CSI: NY and Criminal Minds. Supernatural. Good fiction and good TV. The Dresden Files. Good books. Jacqueline Carey. Mike A Stackpole, the A stands for awesome. People who write good things in general. Entertain me, masses!
