My cat is pretending to be a DVD.

So, this apartment is actually starting to look like someone lives in it, instead of like our possessions exploded over a very limited square footage of space. Who knew we could actually get organized with only a few hundred bucks worth of furniture. Ahh, pasteboard. Or particle board or whatever the hell the kids are calling it these days. Fake wood. Cheap stuff, but it does what you tell it to, i.e. hold stuff. And we do have a lot of stuff. Boy, do we. Some of it is going out in boxes to Goodwill. Some of it got dumpstered. [livejournal.com profile] crescent_gaia, if you still want that Snape/Ron figure, email me your address to jaguar dot kitty at gmail etcetera and I'll ship it out; the idiot who won that auction never got back to me and never paid me.

Not much has been going on at work lately, which is both good and bad. I get paid this week, which is definitely very good as my bank balance is swinging lower than I'd like it to (though not yet, thankfully, to double digits. No, this time thankfully lower than I'd like it to is low triple digits, and that feels really really amazing.) On the other hand, apart from a futon which is not, strictly speaking, yet necessary, I think we've gotten most of the furniture needs out of the way, and that was what was really killing me. That and some of the basic stocking kitchen things, like trash cans and colanders and paper shredders and other random stuff. Kitty food that the cats will actually eat. Which we did find, thankfully, on the second and third try, dry and wet respectively. But still. A calendar for a meal planner, ingredients for meals, that sort of thing. Five pound bags of spaghetti noodles.

Mike likes to sit near me, or on my foot. Near my computer chair. This is adorable sometimes but it does make me worry about rolling over him; on the other hand, since the roller chair is on carpet I'm not really rolling it much. But it is sort of adorable when he arches and brushes past my leg, rubbing up against my leg, etc. Pictures will still be forthcoming as soon as I figure out the whole camera situation.

I kept thinking about stuff I wanted to talk about during the week and now I can't remember any of it. We went to Wal-Mart for groceries and DVD shelves yesterday, which, NEVER AGAIN. Never again the Wal-Mart on Sundays, oh dear sweet frikkin baby Jesus in a nuclear explosion. Everyone and ... Um. Yeah, that was a fairly offensive comment I was about to make, and even I don't feel good about it. Everyone and their baby was out to shop on Sunday. Christ on a whole wheat cracker. And then in the parking lot I ran into this guy who said he was homeless (ish) and stuck there in his RV and did we have any spare change. I didn't feel comfortable with giving him my cash but I did give him the couple of cans of mango juice which we'd picked up, which were about the only immediately edible or imbibable thing we had. The rest of it was mostly things like raw meat and ketchup.

Mike's turned into the sociable people-kitty, and Michelle's... while she's very visible and comes out and yowls and actually sits up and begs for her food, she doesn't let you touch her as much. But at least she's out and around. Mikey's a playful bastard. And he's getting big. It's pretty awesome. Michelle tear-asses around the apartment from room to room, which is cute. And they both like hiding under the bed. Which is fine, since I can wriggle on under there too. Or we can always fold it up to make less bed to hide under. Michelle does have to have her antibiotics, but her spaying hole is just about gone/closed up, and there's no more real infection and ... and now she wants a treat for suffering the indignities of being peroxided on her belly and having antibiotics squirted down her throat. Heh.

I think that's all I can think of to say right now. I'm sure there were other things I mean to blog about, like ... work. And cats. And things. But I don't remember what they were. Sleeeeepy.
