Feb. 27th, 2008 04:45 pmOh holy crap. I have done almost all of the stuff on my to-do list. That was posted less than a week ago. I'm not sure if I'm turning into a responsible adult or what. On the slightly less yay side, I paid down my credit card and then managed to jack it back up. Half of which were necessary expenses and the other half of which I really shouldn't have indulged in, but oh well, at least they aren't breaking anything. Just. Have to remember to be a better Jag in the future.
Actually, I was a good Jag today. I went and bought stuff for my sister's b-day presents at this really really nifty store right next door to ours, and didn't buy myself anything. So, there's that.
To-Do remaining.
1. Pay off (YES!!!) Beloit College loan as soon as mom's second check clears.
2. Get keys on Friday
3. Send out query letter
4. Send out short stories
5. Work on original writing projects: Fairy porn, Pen, Astrid
6. Grocery shopping for new apt
7. Visit kitties on Sunday
I tried to download the pilot of Burn Notice but not only was it immensely slow, iTunes decided I needed to upgrade whether I want to or not. Bastard thing. So, here I am upgrading. Waiting for it to finish upgrading. And then I get to spend the rest of the day writing. The store was slow as Christmas molassas going uphill in Vermont, so I booked it since I already have some extra hours on the paycheck from the sale. This will make the extra hours just normal hours, but oh well. And I think today will be devoted to a) prompts and b) original writing projects. And possibly some of the prompts will turn into submissions. I need to continue that, although I've been remarkably good about the whole dancing every day for a certain amount of time thing. I think even I've been surprised at how good I've been on that.
One thing that's both kind of nice and kind of something else about this town is that everybody really does know everybody else, just about. I ran into someone on the bus whose former roommate worked at the store. My gynecologist services half the women at the store. The clinic tech loves the store, I've seen the same woman now at the store, at English Country Dance, and at a gallery show we went to on Sunday. I actually know her name now, so I'm less embarrassed when she comes in to pick something up. Aheh. When the Elf Lord broke his hip? Just about everyone in the gorram city knew about it within three days, it was bloody amazing. I really do love this town.
Okay. Time to get off this entry and be an adult and keep going with the stories and the setting up the apartment and so on. I. Rock.
