Summary: Teyla has a secret lover, and the Atlantis team would never guess who it is.

"Teyla? Are you all right?"

She had stumbled for a moment, when he first touched her mind. But she smiled at Sheppard and shook her head. "I'm all right." After that, it was only a matter of time.

He caught her arm as they came around the structure, tugging her to the other side. She wasn't sure what to say, but she did manage to call out something that sounded plausible, something about exploring this area of the old settlement. Sheppard gave her a funny look when she finally extricate herself and came around to say so.

"McKay seems intent on discovering whatever it was that appeared on his sensors, but I do not think that it requires both of us to look after him, does it?" Especially since she had the feeling she knew what was McKay had detected.

Sheppard shrugged, glancing at the ground and then looking up with a rueful smile. "He's getting on your nerves, isn't he?"

"Yes," she admitted, with a guilty little bit of relief that she knew Sheppard would attribute to her not wanting to spend time around McKay.

He was still waiting for her around the corner, leaning up against the wall, eyes closed. She approached without stealth, and he opened his eyes and straightened up as she did.

"Teyla."

All right, evidently Dragon interprets sniffles, giggles, and sighs, but not burps. Good to know.

So, this is Nanowrimo 2007! It's 6:15 p.m. on the first day and I haven't written a god damn thing. I'm off to an excellent start.

No, seriously. I think I can do this. It's not like I haven't done it before. However, because I'm lazy and because at least one of these novels is fan fiction, everything I write is going to my journal. And because four out of six novels are not fan fiction, everything in those four novels is going to be friends locked. I don't think this would be a problem, except for the fact that I think I have some readers on my journal who aren't on my friends list. I'm very bad about friending people back. Most of my entries are public anyway, so it doesn't really matter, so I forget who I haven't friended yet. So, if you're on my friends list and you want to read the nano novels, well, you're set. That wasn't what I meant to say.

If you're not on my friends list, but you have me friended and you'd still like to read the nano novels, speak up! If you don't have me friended, and you read this journal and you still like to read the nano novels, speak up! Just tag this post and say I want to read the nano novels and I'll add you on there. Hopefully in the next couple of days I'll have all my nano entries tag, and I'll put an entry up with banners and everything linking each novel to its appropriate tag. And then I'll link that on the links list to the left. Eventually, after Nanowrimo is over, I'll figure out which novels I want to try to publish and which I don't really care about, and put the ones I don't really care about publishing online on my web site. The fan fiction one will automatically go on the web site, because the odds of me actually publishing that one are somewhere out there with the odds of me sprouting wings and flying to Ireland. And then, fair warning, I may actually de-friend the people whose journals I probably won't read. This is not an expression of dislike, it's just because I may or may not know you by that time, and I may or may not be reading your journal. As I said, most of my entries are public anyway, so if you're not on my friends list you're really not missing much.

I think that's it for the disclaimers, provisos, and warnings. Those of you who've been around for a couple years know that nanowrimo is my crazy month, and I'll probably wind up freaking out about trying to six novels at once. Those of you who have never paid attention to me during nanowrimo, yes, I really do try to write six novels at once. Those of you who still aren't paying attention, carry on!

And now if you'll excuse me, me and Dragon has some srs bizness to do.

All the little sounds of the station faded into a blur of white noise. Breathe.

Legs crossed, shoulders relaxed, Teyla kept her eyes closed and her body still, the hammering of her heart in her chest. They had discussed it over and over again, they had argued about it, and none of them had come to any personal conclusion about the experiment, she thought. The official conclusion was that it would proceed as planned, from the moment it had begun with the capture...

Something crashed. Teyla opened her eyes, took another couple of breaths, and started again.
