Mar. 14th, 2007 11:11 amDear god, I feel like a human being again.
Unfortunately, my absence from most of the internet, tagging, RP, etc will persist likely until Friday, if not Saturday. Saturday because it's St. Patrick's day and being a patriotic American I have to go pretend to be Irish and get drunk. Until then, because I'm working frantically on some St. Patrick's Day costumes (what? WHAT?!) that I had intended to work on yesterday on my day off, and the day before in the afternoon after work. Except I contracted dysentery and died. Yech.
(I actually have no idea what it was, but I hope I never get it again.)
However! While I am on the topic of sewing, I will expand a bit. I have currently a good basic pattern for several different types of Faire skirts, a blouse, a pirate shirt, a woodsman shirt, and a bodice. Yay! I also have four commissions more or less, all of them due to be made by fall. Two of these commissions are things I can do more or less (if I mock-up the jacket first) without trouble, the other two are things that will be an adventure. And by adventure I mean I have the proper skillset, I've just never put them together in this order before. Also, seams of endless length.
The point of all this rambling is that, if you go to Renaissance Faire or do other things requiring costumes, I can make them. At the moment Renne Faire projects are probably easiest because they're mix and match, bodices, pirate shirts, vests! I forgot about the vests. Skirts, etc. I only need a few measurements, some idea of what you want for the material or for you to send me the material, and presto-boom, Bob's your ghostly, Sorcerous uncle (I totally called that). More complex things like cosplay, re-creations, etc. will require some time and extended conversation. And me figuring out just how much time I need to do it. Yeah.
But, there you go! Pictures of St Patrick's day costume, which is really just a very green (OMG the green!) wench's Faire outfit, should be forthcoming. Have I abused parantheticals yet?
