Mar. 14th, 2006 10:07 amApart from the cough that actually seems to sound worse than it feels, and is the most persistant of my symptoms to date, I think it's time to do that Madmartigan* thing.
But now? Ohgod. So much work to get done. I finally realized how soon Maui is coming up. SO MUCH TO DO. So much. May be slowly easing off RP by the beginning of April, depending on what my work schedule is like. I mean, I have RP plans up through Ostara and tags I have to comment (a lot of those, too) and at least two posts I have to make for two different characters. But. Should ease off on RP and concentrate more on the novels.
I have to outline a bunch of them -- hell, I have to get organized in general. I've got a big purple cloth-covered binder in which will go a lot of plastic sheets and a lot of paper. One page synopsis. First-draft outlines. Print those up. Then draft the novels. Edit those, maybe print them up, maybe not. Second-draft outlines. Because the way I write is I sketch an outline, maybe one sentence per chapter, and write the rough beginning to end. And then I write the novel and see how much they jive. Do second drafts of both the outline and novel, and hope those fall into better synch. By the second draft of the synopsis and the third draft of the novel, they should be all together. The idea being to solidify the novel by that time. Synopses and outlines and cover letters and character notes and world notes, though. All going in that purple binder. Hm. Which means I need to buy separators.
But, yeah. Novels. So much to catch up on there! And then, working some more on the Big Damn List and Table. And finishing off all the Arcane essays and blurbs on the website. Actually the Arcane Essay itself and the Sorcerer Essay are done, I just need to figure out if I want to expand them and put in quotes from source material, not just Jung and Campbell and that lot. But. And I'm sure I'll take on some other projects in between. And all this fitting around my day job. Fmeh.
But. Yes! Time to start catching up. Slowly at first. I don't work today or tomorrow, so I have a couple days to sit on the couch and recuperate. And write. The good thing about being a writer, I guess, is that you can sit on the couch and recuperate from an illness, and still be "at work." Which is cool.
The other good thing is that you can go to work in your pajamas with your hair sticking out at all ends from your head. Which is about the state I'm in now. Hee.
* The Madmartigan thing, for those of you not up on your Willow, is where you jump around like a maniac and screech "I FEEL BETTER!" Swinging around a Little Person is optional.
