So I went to Wal-Mart. And now? In addition to having new shoes and the first pair of heeled boots that I might actually regularly wear, I have 40 yards of fabric. 40. YARDS. OF FABRIC. White, off white and pastel blue. I'm going to make them into pirate shirts. It's a lightweight cotton flannel. Winter pirate shirts. The boy's idea. It's an odd choice for a pirate shirt, but since I like the cut more than anything and it's supposed to be decorative... and they do have late fall Faires... I figured, why not? Also I can wear it to work and freak the mundies.

FORTY YARDS. That's over ten pirate shirts, just. Actually 12, if we count the one I already have cut out. I think we can ... let's say 14, including the ones I already had material for.

Which is 7 yards of interfacing, 28 yards of cording, and 140 eyelets. 150 eyelets and 30 yards of cording, since I have yet to put eyelets in the pirate shirt I already made. Mother of Roberts. I'm going to be rather insanely busy for a while. Between this and writing. At least there's no real deadline.

Anyone want a pastel pirate shirt?

They also had loads of purple, green, and pink. Should I, or should I not go back and make more pastel pirate shirts? Inquiring minds want to know. Quick, before it's all gone.

However, having recently acquired all this gleeful sewing bounty, I am now in fact going to ignore it in favor of writing. Because I am so far behind I've come round the other side and am staring at my own ass. Ye gods. Maybe I'll sew later tonight while I dictate, since I still have hems. Hems are good. And easy. And can be done while writing as opposed to instead of. And I should hem some stuff for Faire. And, oh god, finish my bodice. Since, corset? Probably not going well. I'll finish that tomorrow. In one big marathon sewing session. Since, also? No work. Okay. This is a plan.

Today: Write. Write my fingers off. Hem and/or piece together pirate shirts if there is time. Also sew on hook and eyes and pound grommets in so I have at least one finished shirt.

Tomorrow: Sew. Finish bodice. Write. Stay up till crack o'clock in the morning since the boy will be at the roleplaying game.

Saturday: Go to work. Work whole damn shift. Write. Lots. Piece together second pirate shirt. Write even more. Try frantically to get ahead on writing.

Why yes! This can be done! I swear, I will get ahead on writing by the end of October. I will, goddammit. And then write and sew my way through November and December. If I get ahead on writing now I can do more sewing in November and Decmber. Which, come to think of it, is good, since I can't prime or seal minis when it gets really cold. Hey! I've come up with an amazing plan totally without knowing it. Go me. And now, go me to my laptop to write. I've said that about five times now. This time I'm really going. Bye.
