The more coherent update
Nov. 13th, 2004 07:11 amHave I mentioned how much I enjoy having Samael-the-laptop? 'cause I do. Oh yes I do. Even if, like Samael-the-person, it is prone to making strange noises and speeches at random times and startling the fuck out of me. Ah yes, the personality invades already. Except I can't smack it 'cause Samael-the-laptop is significantly more fragile. Bastard.
However, yesterday I tooled around on word, activated the word count toolbar. Which is the new god on my laptop, oh yes. Oh yes it is. Fucked around in works to recreate some spreadsheets I had lost (it doesn't have Excel but it does have Word, which is odd). Discovered that IT COMES WITH JASC PAINT SHOP PRO 8. Which is wonderful. And now Ineed to figure out which version so I can crack it need to register it. Which, really, this time I might actually do as I have a paycheck and money coming in.
The biggest new development is that I finally caved and used the money program tool thing that came with the laptop, so now I might actually keep closer track of my finances. Yeah, me, keeping a balanced book, who knew. I can do it, I'm just really lazy about it. The math isn't the problem. Right now I'm hoping the desire to play around on my new toy keeps me updating my finances long enough that it becomes habit. We'll see how well that goes, especially as my college loans are coming back into play. UGH. I wonder if I can reduce payments on those.

I think that's about everything. There was an impromptu game last night, hence no internet presence. Does anyone know how to set up a computer for wifi? Is there software to download or is it just a setup thing? 'cause I wasn't going to put this computer on the 'net but now Im sorely tempted. Still might not, but it'd be nice to know how if I want to. And now I need breakfast...
