May. 29th, 2004 06:57 pmOne mini finished today, one touched up and sealed, one started. Although I may strip that one and start over again, I think I need to get a new set of brushes. But all told, I have one set of Frogmen finished, so if there should be game abruptly there will be a plethora of creatures for us to fight. Yay.
Got another rejection today. Cricket/Cicada, whichever one of those I submitted to. Which probably means my sense of what is appropriate for what age ranges is way skewed. Which makes sense, really, I was reading Tolkien and Stephen King around ages seven to ten, depending, so I probably am not the best qualified. Which means Laurel gets submitted to Cricket, and I have no idea what to submit to Highlights. I'll think of something. And anyway, now that I'm done painting minis for the day I should probably get back to writing.
I'm actually feeling somewhat better about things today. Not that I was feeling bad, but today's just been a generally good day. Painting was done and the minis look at least decent if not damn good. I heard back from one of the places I submitted to, which is good even if it's not an acceptance letter. I went for walkies, which probably contributes to my good mood. Life isn't perfect, but it's not bad, not yet.
Watched Velvet Goldmine. Apart from the overwhelming prettiness of the male actors and the incredibly amusing sense of deja vu from all their antics, I'm not sure what to think of it yet. I'll try and form a coherent opinion later on.
And now to see if I actually can manage to get off my lazy butt and go to Wal-Mart. The good part about the brushes I use is that they're cheap! Like the budgie.
