"Second verse, same as the first"
May. 20th, 2004 01:06 pmWell, another year older. I feel absolutely no different.
Actually I feel a little hung over, but that's probably due to the partying last night.
Here I went, got all set down to paint -- and it was a good thing, too, because a storm came up and we turned off all the computers -- and one of the boys calls. Do we want to head out to a local bar, he asks, for a couple drinks? So after several phone calls back and forth eventually I pack up the painting kit and we do. We spend a good few hours at the bar, eventually joined by a couple other people about whom I have heard, but whom I haven't met yet. Actually I'd met one of them, but only in passing. And we all sat down and had some drinks. Much hilarity ensued.
I won't bore you with the details. We talked and shared stories and played games, that was about it. Afterwards one friend played those stupid games with the claw and the stuffed toys and things in the glass box. He actually won something, and promptly presented it to me with a happy birthday. Sweet of the lad.
And then we stood around in the parking lot for a while. The boyfriend's ex apparently works near there, and walked up to give him a death glare, ignore the both of us, and talk to the two we were standing around with. Silly little bint. Eventually it was just me, the boyfriend, and our friend. So what did we do?
We went to Meijers.
Gods. It was like being in college all over again. :D
Well, it was one of the only things that was open that late, I guess. I picked me up a couple of notebooks and some candies, necessities, and splurged on an Agent Smith toy. Because I could. And because it was one of those nifty Todd McFarlane toys. That company makes the coolest toys.
We finally made it home around 4:30, 5 am. All in all, a very happy birthday.
ETA: Thanks y'all (from below comments) :)
