Feb. 18th, 2004 12:46 pmReading Stephen King definitely puts me in a weird mood. And adds something to the Tarot theory... what happens when those of the Major Arcana overlap. Is that even possible? Is his Sorcerer mine, and what does his Sorcerer include? Are Walter and Flagg the same? Does it even matter?
Pfui.
Went to writing class last night, and picked up Wolves of the Calla at the library. As a result I got absolutely fuckall done. I need to buckle down today and make up for that, but right now I'm finishing Wolves of the Calla and it's... engrossing in a weird, this doesn't match up, one of these things is not like the other kind of way. It doesn't match up with the Dark Tower books King wrote, pre-accident. There's a disjointedness to it. Ah well.
Turmoil in my head. All sorts of characters having all sorts of upsets, some of them fixing them and some of them not. So strange. Especially with my mind in Stephen King mode.
Okay, let's see if I can do something else. Writing class. Ye gods. I went wearing one of the boyfriend's old Vampire shirts. To a guest lecture from a woman wearing a little silver cross who passed out sample query letters that were all to do with Christian magazines, evangelizing, etc. I shudder to think what she thought of me. Especially since the one thing I said the whole time was pretty much wising off. Not in the sense of being a smartass, but in the sense of tossing out a bit of obscure trivia to prove my mind's worth. Foolishness, but amusing foolishness. At least I got good marks on my sample writing.
Pfui. Mind still a wit-wandering, and locked in Stephen King's bizarre sing-song patois. More later, then, I suppose.
