Today.. could have been more fruitful, but I went to the library and got out a few good books. A couple on New Orleans for my nanonovel. Renewed some on Paris and the Opium Wars, got one on the history of warfare and a novel called The Crimson Petal and the White that I remember seemed good a while back. And was, I think, about a boy-courtesan but I could be wrong on that point.

I also rented The Lion In Winter, which always amuses the hell out of me. I love the dialogue, the byplay, and I absolutely adore Katherine Hepburn. I wanted to be Eleanor of Aquitaine when I was little. Still do, hell. She's beautiful and powerful and witty and clever and intelligent and wise and really really badass. "I married out of love a woman out of legend." I wouldn't mind being a woman out of legend. Eleanor of Aquitaine, in whatever incarnation I've seen her and read her, rules my world.
