(no subject)

Why does nobody but me know how to code a decent web page? At least, no civilian. Why does nobody but me (and April) have a sense of style when it comes to making a web page? What is wrong with the world? Who thought that loud, bright pattern backgrounds were sane? And more than 1 large animated image file? And obviously photoshopped 'bio' pics... no, that's not you, that's Legolas. You're just not as pretty as he is. Suck it. And fonts over 14 pt... unless they're headers (and copyright claims, no matter how patently false, are not)... is unnecessary. The fact that you had it that big just screams that you're paranoid about getting sued. I doubt Peter Jackson cares how many people have used screencaps of Lord of the Rings, okay? And...

Oh, never mind.

It's funny how many of these really hideous pages are out there. Even mine was hideous, Christ, but that was way back when. In.. like, '96. Or even '95. Way back when I first started coding, in the bronze age of the web. I've learned since then. Really. I have.

Just ask April.

Oh well. I have to suffer, I suppose. At least most of the sites I habitually visit are relatively sane in their web page creation. It's a small comfort. But I still feel guilty about linking people to pages that are loud, eyeblinding... and what's with this trend for free web page servers to have ridiculous numbers of pop up windows? Wouldn't banner ads suffice? Oh well, I guess that's the point of making people pay for no pop ups... it generates the revenue that the pop ups lose.

Anyway.
