Well, I did try (sort of) to get my writing done first thing in the evening when I got home, during and after dinner. And only managed about five hundred words. No virtuous deed goes unpunished, I guess.
Our new computer (one whole, one some assembly required) did not come today. Woe! Well, and the UPS driver has his instructions so I get it, and besides they might come tomorrow when we're both home for the usual 2 hour ish delivery window. Today was just a bad day for it because the boy left early and I got home late. Still. New laptop! No more of this bullshit running down the battery and then not being able to charge it! No more infinite crawl netbook! And still having a backup computer that pretty much functions anyway if I need a backup portable computer. Meanwhile the boy has his own damn desktop and doesn't need to get me to log him in on mine every few days.
Also I may have gone a little overboard on the knitting projects and ended up with five projects on needles right now. Oops. Look, it's not my fault, I wanted to finish the two projects I had, and then we got new yarns and there were samples to knit, and then I found the perfect yarn for the perfect baby blanket pattern and then I accidentally five things on needles. On the plus side, at least two or three of these should knit up fast? :D
Yeah, I'm kinda doomed.
The great wall scraping, well, ceiling scraping starts tomorrow. I was going to pack up a chunk of that side of the room but then I ended up watching My Neighbor Totoro and reliving my childhood until I looked up and it was late and now I'm too goddamn tired. Plus I don't actually think we're going to do anything until Friday night at the earliest, and it won't take me that long to pack shit up. I just hope the ceiling scraping is as easy as the boy seems to think it will be. Because otherwise, ugh.
I've ended up with way too many projects again. I really need to be smacked when I start doing shit like this. Unfortunately I tend to keep such things to myself so there's no one really around to smack me until it's too late. At least I'm not taking on too many major projects, it's more like, five knitting things, umpteen stories, and a squirrel. Or in this case a raccoon. And a groundhog that needs evicting, but that's easy, put an apple and some peanut butter in the live trap and hand it over to a guy in the middle of the night at the foot of the mountain. Yes, I realize that sounds like an occult ritual of some kind but in my case it's actually true. Life can be pretty damn exotic when you phrase it right.
