kittydesadeAnother page down in Twilight Watch, so now I'm on page 62. To be specific, three paragraphs into page 2 because when I looked back to see what the hell actual page I had just done I saw that there were only three paragraphs left in the scene, so I went ahead and read them. More and more, it's solidifying that vocab is my main blocker in this. And I'm picking up some words? like люди and Сумрак (only, okay, not usually capitalized) and phrases like покачал головой (shake head), but it's still... it's frustrating? In the weird way of my comprehension is becoming more immediate and I know, more accurately, the rough gist of what's going on but WORDS. It's not even the cannot make bricks without clay thing, it's that I have insufficient molds to fill with the clay so that the bricks are made and the house goes up as quickly as I want it to.
That metaphor may not have been as clear as I wanted.
Anyway. I feel more rested today than I did yesterday, my brain works more clearly, but I am dizzy like you would not believe. I would really like it if at some point brain and body both decided either to shut down and fuck off for a day together, or function properly for many days together, not this one on one off its game bullshit.
Also, I don't think I mentioned this, yesterday I managed to send two nice young men from the Church of Latter Day Saints to an RPG gaming store. They were looking for dice! It was the only place for, literally, miles around that I was sure had dice for sale that didn't come in a board game. And the directions were easy, go out of downtown and on this main road for about three, four minutes till you see this store sign. But oh, I do hope they weren't the kinds of LDS folk who will walk into that shop and feel like their souls are in immediate danger. They didn't seem like they thought that about RPing, but they might also not have known what I was talking about. .... Hell, for all I know that's exactly why they wanted dice and they didn't want to say because they weren't supposed to be doing that? I would laugh so hard if that were the case.
Um. OH. I did finish edits on my story for that anthology. Done done done! Stick a fork in it. Now I just have to go through and make sure all the bracket notes are filled in and send it off, which can happen tonight while I eat dinner. Next up, CS virtues post, knocking that off the list and then a couple scenes in WL. Tomorrow I think I will at least try to finish Darren's dime novel. I've put it off so long I need to re-read it. Again.
