Eile (other, else) and uile (all); do not confuse the two
Tabhair dom ceann eile. Give me another one.
Beidh cupán eile agam. I'll have another cup.
Cad eile? What else?
rud eile another thing, something else
Aon rud eile? Anything else?
Uile has fewer uses. When placed before a noun it causes lenition.
Sin ile. That's all.
gach uile cheann - every single one
gach uile dhuine - every single person
Ceann (head) in the sense of 'one'
This is used as follows:
Tá ceann eile uaim. I want another one. (No, not another head, hilarious as that might be.)
B'fhearr liom ceann nua. I would prefer a new one.
Ceann is used to count objects or animals, not people.
ceann amháin - one (or just one)
dhá cheann - two
trí cinn - three
ceithre cinn - four
seacht gcinn - seven
ocht gcinn - eight
naoi gcinn - nine
deich gcinn - ten
The things counted can be specified using de (of) which requires lenition.
trí cinn de bha - three cows (lit. three head of cattle)
Note the following:
ann ceann seo - this one
an ceann sin - that one
na cinn seo - these ones
na cinn sin - those ones
I have no idea why I was s... wait a second. No, I know exactly why I was so tired last night, on account of I said yesterday was way more physically involved than I thought it would be. So, idiot, that's why you were tired last night, maybe next time you'll think about just going to bed instead of staying up and pushing through to the next originally intended time mark on Person of Interest. Fucksake.
And then, you know, today the boy brought home girl scout cookies, so I had girl scout cookies for breakfast. Shortbread, so it could have been worse, but oi.
Statement of intent for today: Same as yesterday for the most part. Line edits, at least one more scene and trying for two, coming home and grabbing dinner since I'll be on my own and then starting with the Haven Herald, then Person of Interest after I get that done. It does look like we don't have any incoming today, unless we get ambushed by FedEx again like yesterday, so I should have some time to get line edits done. That and pulling stories from this journal to toss up on the web page as writing samples, short stories so I don't have to go through and edit them. Doing that, self, fiction index and individual short stories now that you've got the story format itself done, and then coding the pages for Black Ice and the desert and then editing shit from there, posting it, etc. Okay? Okay.
Right. That's at least a broke-down list of things to do regarding the website. At least writing at this point is pretty much, line edits, line edits, cuppa coco, line edits. And, you know, doing day job work. But mostly line edits, line edits, almost got shagged, line edits. We can blame this on Mister E, who seems to have turned into Giles this morning.
