А ещё - я был очень рад звонку. Все равно день пропащий - на дачу я поеду только через неделю. Убираться в квартире рано - как любой уважающий себя мужчина в отсутствие семьи я делаю это один раз, в последний день холостяцкой жизни. Идти в гости или звать гостей к себе тоже решительно не хотелось. Так что куда полезнее на день раньше вернуться из отпуска - чтобы в нужный момент с чистой совестью потребовать отгул.

Anyway, I was really glad I'd gotten the call. The day was already shot to hell. It was still too early to tidy up the apartment (like any self-respecting man whose family is away, I only do that once, on the final day of bachelor life). And I definitely didn't feel like going around to see anyone or inviting anyone back to my place either. By far the most useful thing would be to go back to work a day early - that way, I could ask for time off with a clear conscience when I needed to.

It looks like there's light incoming today, at least. Which is good. I can hopefully get some stuff done today both on languages and on writing. I'm hitting the point in the World-Building Leviathan where I'm almost done but I was already kind of lagging in the brainpan energy department when I wrote it the first time, so figuring out what the fuck is going on is an interesting process. Still. That, and I might as well start line edits on the project to finalize that for formatting and processing out. I have never been so excited to begin line edits in my life. Eek!

I guess that surge of energy went away. I want to curl up with Sasha Roiz and Jeremy Renner and all my freaky ideas and never leave my apartment or my house or wherever I settle in. Blah. Nothing else interesting happening, guys, move along. I'll try to be more energetic and interesting next time.

Aheh. Don't I know it. Both parts of that, really. *hugs* At least, mm, house tangles seem to be resolving with a minimum of fuss! I just got an email from Renovations Lady and Contractor Dude managed to straighten things out with regard to the feasibility study things. I am HAPPY.
