Семья очень интересная -- все полиглоты. Папа (Виктор) мексиканец. Мама (Антония) аргентика. (Аменика ведь страна иммигрантов!) Они в США с 1980 года. Конечно, все говорят по-английски и по-испански. У Виктора небольшой испанский акцент, а Антония говорит без акцента. Но когда говорят по-испански, я ничего не понимаю, даже когда говорят медленно. Анна учит французский язык и уже свободно говорит, почти как француз. Pоб изучает русский с большим энтузиазмом, но пока говорит только немного. Он знает русский алфавит и такие слова, как здравствyйте, пожалуйста, а также интернациональные слова типа телефон, радио, и компьютер. Роб говорит, что русский язык очень трудный. Но фонетика и интонация у него хороше. Кстати, насчёт испанского: здесь три радиостанции работают на этом языке. Я раньше не понимала, что испанский язык -- фактически второй национальный язык США, особенно в больших говорах и в таких штатах, как Флорида, Техас, и Калифорния.

Ой, чуть не забыла! Сегодня была регистрация в университете. Всё это делают на компьютере в Интернете. У меня английский язык, журналистика, политология и лингвистика.

And that is probably full of typos after I got way too distracted making icons. On the other hand, still boggled by how much of that I can understand straight off, barely running it through an active translation filter. Then again, the hard part is speaking/writing it straight off, isn't it? Oogh. I'll work on that, too.

So, I made a bunch of icons yesterday, off an offhand punny comment that I made to a friend of mine and then decided that needed to be an icon. I was going to do Nanowrimo icons, but these are so much more fun:

Oof. Have headache. Yes, have taken aspirin. Am now in the process of labeling about 200 packs of dye, yeesh. Which is still better than yesterday, when all of this dye was laying out over two of my tables and the label printer was broken and then I got completely distracted discussing Chilean slang with my aunt. Apparently the term they used when she was a girl and still use for boyfriend/girlfriend (and the term they also used for the gym bloomers outfit they had to wear!) is only or predominately used in Chile. Huh. There's also a couple other phrases, but then I found a list of what was supposed to be Chilean slang and a lot of it was more generic slang so, eh. Apparently they only teach children book Spanish these days? Or something. I has a headache.
