Russian. Translating dialogues, yay!

Petya, I'm going to get [lit. to make] our neighbor Masha gift. It is her birthday soon, after all.

Oh, I completely forgot about that!

What would you advise me to buy her?

A book, maybe?

Yes, maybe give her a book. English doesn't have a specific equivalent verb that I know of, but this verb specifically indicates 'to give as a gift.' Note the similarity to подарок.

You know, I haven't been was to market recently. There were interesting things [there]. Note the resolve at the end of the first asset verb, pos instead of neg.

Well, maybe we can go there today?

Let's.

Guh. The rest of this may have to wait or be really slowed down until my body stops misbehaving.
