Frazzled kitty is frazzled. The boy has gas for another ... week? Maybe? But if this bullshit doesn't let up relatively soon I don't know whether or not...
Well. No. There's about six gas stations not too far from us up and down the thoroughfare near our place. So if he gets down to a little under half a tank he can probably leave a couple hours early one day next week and have a decent to fair chance of getting gas. But still. This is fucking ridiculous. There are fights. I'm a little surprised there haven't been murders yet, but only a little. It's Asheville. We're all either a little too nice or a little too stoned.
So! Who caught Bush's terrorist speech last night? I saw five minutes, maybe, and was about ready to throw up. Give him $700 billion dollars now or life as we know it collapses? Yeah, no. Somehow I don't think that's how it'll work. Who's that money going to come from? The middle class and lower, and that's you and me, folks. (Actually I probably qualify as lower class from my income bracket, but I consider my quality of life and standard of living to be perfectly fine thank you.) And where's it going to go? Well, given that this is mostly a Republican/Bush/etc plan, it's probably going to go to shore up faltering companies who really need to either pay their multi-zillionare CEOs less (god forbid one of them not have gold-monogrammed toilet paper to wipe their herpes-encrusted parts with) or just giveit up already.
Ahem. Anyway. In less vitriolic news, I managed to secure a copy of Goethe and a copy of Breakfast at Tiffany's for the KittyLore book club. Long story. I am also currently bashing my way through Supernatural Season 3. And I still think everyone's smoking crack in Heroes. NCIS, CSI: NY, and Criminal Minds will have to be downloaded on account of I was busy and missed them. Oops. I'm just not getting as excited about TV as I used to.
And on the extreme plus side, I will have girls in town in... good gods, a little over a week. And the Samhain gather at the end of October. Do you know how long it is since I've been to a gather? Far too fucking long. So, life, she is not all bad. Just exhausting.
