Add ann to the sentences where it is needed. It is not necessary in every case.
Mar shampla:
Tá Peige ag an scoil agus tá Bairbre ann freisin.
Níl Bríd anseo, ach tá Liam ann.
1. Tá mise anseo, ach níl sise ann.
2. Tá bord anseo, ach níl úlla ann.
3. Tá daoine eile sásta.
4. Níl rud ar bith anois ann.
5. Níl Bríd ná Máirtín anseo.
6. Níl éan anseo, ach tá úlla ann.
7. Tá Bríd anseo, agus tá sí tinn.
8. Tá Liam i nGaillimh agus tá Máire freisin ann.
9. Tá scoil anseo, ach níl duine ar bith ann.
10. Níl Máirtín ná fear eile ann.
Translate the following.
1. I bought three books yesterday. Cheannaigh mé trí leabhar inné.
2. Peige is in Ireland and Máire is in Scotland now. Tá Peige in Éirinn agus tá Máire in Albain anois.
3. That big book is expensive. Tá an leabhar mór sin daor.
4. A couple of small girls fell here. They are sick now. Thit cúpla cailín beag anseo. Tá siad tinn anois.
5. I see lots of people at the shop every day. Feicim daoine go leor ag an siopa gach lá.
6. The shop is big and there is good food there. Tá siopa mór agus tá bia maith ann.
7. Liam told Orla one good story. D'inis Liam scéal maith amháin do Orla.
8. Cáit went to school there. Chuaigh Cáit ar scoil anseo.
9. The day is cold and there are no birds. Tá an lá fuar agus níl éan ar bith ann.
10. The nice girl is awfully sick. Tá cailín deas uafásach tinn.
Well, all right then. Today I will write, in Russian, 100 words about cake. Maybe tomorrow I will go back to Gods and Monsters, and then continue on with short ficlets. And the German lesson plan has already been figured, so there's that. Irish would probably be easier at least if I hadn't done the other book first, if they gave me the verbs to begin with instead of making me translate whole sentences for which I don't have verb conjugations, but at least they have an answer key.
Dum deedle de doo. What do I even have on the calendar for today?
Hrr. And I guess if it gets too busy for that today, I'll work on at least G&M this evening, although argh finishing the blog tonight. I was too exhausted to do much of that last night. Barring that I have to do that, more compiling of Black Ice and dealing with edits after I finish tomorrow's blog entry. I have so much writing work to do, argh, and my office is a mess. I guess I know what I'm cleaning up this weekend!
Still more relaxed than the lead-up to Dragon*Con.
(Also I may have printed out some Kanji practice worksheets. Oops.)
