With regards to the Simple Green bit: does it only work on metal miniatures? I have a...decently sized collection of plastic models that I painted Early in my career with very bright, glossy Testors oil-based enamels. Some time later, I've realized that I really don't want my models looking like a racecar and have switched (with cheerfulness) to Vallejo acrylics, but the old models are still in my collection and it'd be nice to be able to get them to match (and without going and spending another Umpty dollars on the underlying plastic.)
