I woke up at 5.30 and have been a zombie for the entire back half of the day I disapprove of this entire plan. The leisurely morning I had earlier is not enough to make up for this.
Also Duolingo has Turkish now and I kind of want to learn. The Swedish and Dutch weren't this bad! Probably because they were already there when I joined and I could stomp on it all at once, this one comes with a shiny little "hey guess what we did" flag. Argh.
Starting on the fiddly bits of A Knitting Collection Project, which is to say jumpers and mittens and I have never done these things before so I am slightly going out of my tiny mind. Blankets I can do! Blankets are easy, they're just rectangles to a greater or lesser extent. Mittens and ... okay, fair enough, mittens I can probably do. It's the stranded colorwork that's going to give me fits, but I might as well learn that in small doses. Jumpers, though. Jumpers have sleeves. How do I sleeves???
(This is good practice for making jumpers for adults, though. So I do it, because they're small and there's only so far I can go before I realized I've screwed up, and then less to rip out and redo.)
I have also discovered nail stamping, so the rest of the world may cringe in fear at the amount of paraphernalia I'm buying just to be able to slap color on my nails. I thought for a while I'd be satisfied with the scotch tape and makeup sponge techniques. Let's all note I haven't even tried the latter. And yet, no. Give me more. Give me nail stamps. Also they were $7 and I was getting the boy's birthday presents anyway, so I figured why not add that in there. And if I end up liking it, there's many many many many many many many more stamping plates I can buy and patterns I can put on my nails. I had no idea nail decorating technology was so advanced. More, more, I'm still not satisfied.
Still have way too many projects and not enough time or organization or ability to remember what the fuck I was doing when, which is fun. I think current knitting projects are the Potato and finishing up my gloves, and then bracelets, so I suppose I should say current yarn projects. I think my gloves are the only ones that are for me, too, even, the bracelets are samples for the store. Current writing projects are White Lightning and stories therein, currently the bikers one and the Bedlam one, and then I have to finish Queen and Parliament so that can go for edits, re-outline the Witch thing, and do the supplemental documents for WL. ... So that's not so bad actually, it's just that I have to keep telling myself that's what I'm working on.
And then there's languages. And keeping the house clean. And all my online courses. Okay, I have way too many projects I'm working on. I just. I have no idea how I keep getting myself into this shit. I need to stop and finish a bunch of projects and just focus on that for the entire rest of the month is what I need to do. Anyone want to calculate me the odds of that happening?
