Thanks to my recent Pope fixation I am now rewatching Falling Skies pretty much from the beginning. It's interesting. Anne kills a Skitter by herself, Pope is, well, pretty much the same asshole he's always been, but in the episode where we see any amount of Pope's crew he does treat Maggie with marginally more respect than the other guys. Which doesn't excuse that he lets them treat her how they did, but it confirms what I suspected, that his control over them is more for show than actual, for their benefit and everyone else's. I can't argue that he's a good guy, because he isn't. He's not the main villain either, I'm not even sure he's a villain, but he's definitely not a good guy. And yet, depending on who else was in his crew, I think I'd mostly feel safe with him. Mostly. He's predictable in his assholery, put it that way. Although dealing with him would take some greater amount of resources than dealing with people who aren't assholes.

Ugh. Boy seems to have acquired a case of poison ivy from gardening, which is not doing anything to dissuade me from the notion that I'm not allergic to poison ivy, since I haven't picked him up either from him or from the lawn. Still, hopefully a clinic will get him some lotion or something to fix it. Right now he's all red and blotchy and itchy. Fucking poison ivy. Or whatever that is, but I know there's poison ivy by at least one of the areas he was mowing. Which I know he knows too, except, no. Still going over there and mowing. Silly, silly man.

Person of Interest blog seems to be coming along well enough, which means today I get to work on Gods and Monsters and try to push to finish Blood in the Gutters this morning. Day. Whatever it is at work. Yay? I'm not sure how much free time I'll have but I do know there's nothing incoming for a couple of days, so at least that's one thing I won't be having to do for a bit. Writing, editing. I should try that whole blogging thing again, I hear that's good.
