Woke up this morning with only a nasty taste in my mouth and the barest hint of a cough. It's good to be better again.
Unfortunately I couldn't actually fall asleep last night till five in the fucking morning. Dammit! So I woke up at noon and as a result if I call the temp agency I bet I'll just get an answering machine. Fine. I'll wait till 1:30 or so and then call. You see? I have thwarted their sneaky plan. Bastards.
Weird thing, though. And for all of you who have cats, you'll know how weird this is. I think. I grab my cat and take her upstairs with me when I go to bed (for the second time, after coming downstairs and drinking some water and contemplating mindless tv). She curls up on the bed as usual, except she's right on top of the blankets I need to cover my freezing body. So I pick her up, tuck her in one arm so she doesn't try it again till I've got the blankets over me. That done, I loosen my arm so she can squirm out and walk to the end of the bed as she always does.
But she doesn't.
Instead she tucks her feet under the blankets too and sticks her head on my hand and starts purring. I press my head to her back to check... yep, she's purring. So I ended up being spooned with the cat for a good half hour until I'm almost asleep and then, finally, she gets up and walks away. To the end of the bed. Where she curls up on my feet and goes to sleep as usual. That's better.
Ugh. I should get ready for the day. Have breakfast, brush teeth, shower, that kind of thing. Don't want to. Where's my morning word puzzles.
